He obtained his doctoral degree in 1997, and his habilitation degree in 2008. In 2022, he was awarded the title of Professor of Physical Culture by the President.

He is a coach of the master class in judo, ju-jitsu, and karate. Since 2017, he has been the Chairman of the Dan Commission of the Polish Ju-Jitsu Association, and since 2011, he has been the President of the Board of the Polish Federation of General Sports.
