Konrad Witek
Deputy Director of the Institute of Sport - State Research Institute
A graduate of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw, with a Ph.D. in physical culture sciences, he specialized in laboratory medical diagnostics at the Warsaw Medical University. Employed at the Institute of Sport – State Research Institute since 2000. From 2015 to 2021, he served as the Head of the Biochemistry Department, and since 2021, he has been appointed Deputy Director for Research and Implementation. He was involved in implementing a quality management system in the laboratory of the Biochemistry Department, leading to accreditation by the Polish Centre for Accreditation in 2008 in compliance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard. He is an internal auditor for the EN-PN 17025, EN-PN 15189, and EN-PN 17065 standards. Since 2022, he has been overseeing the activities of the Institute of Sport – PIB as an External Quality Assurance Entity within the Integrated Qualification System (qualification group – sports). He completed management studies for medical diagnostic laboratory managers (LabLider). He worked at the King’s College anti-doping laboratory in London during the Paralympic Games. He is a lecturer in courses organized by the Coaching Academy. In 2018, he obtained the Trained Coach Developer certificate from the International Council for Coaching Excellence. From 2011 to 2021, he was a Member and Secretary of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Sport – PIB.
