Jan Mazurczak

It manages the Poznań Local Tourist Organization, responsible for the promotion and development of tourism in the Poznań agglomeration. It also includes a specialized unit supporting the acquisition of congresses for the capital of Wielkopolska – the Poznań Convention Bureau. He led the expansion of the membership structure in the organization, which is based on the local governments of the Poznań agglomeration (the City of Poznań, Poznań County and a dozen or so other municipalities in the Poznań Metropolis area) and the tourism industry (hotels, airport, fairs, restaurants, museums, universities, tourist attractions, etc.). In cooperation with the tourism industry, he supports dozens of events annually, including Poznań’s largest congresses, such as the FDI World Dental Congress, the CISH World Congress of Historians and the IPSA World Congress of Political Science.
Creator of the “Poznań for half price” sales campaign, today copied by dozens of Polish cities and regions, also at the national level. Member of the Council of Experts on Tourism, numerous scientific councils, teams, co-author of the strategy for the development of tourism in the Poznań Metropolis and Poznań. Introduced in 2012 a permanent system of monitoring tourist traffic called “Poznań Tourism Baroemtar”. For several years he has been involved in the gastronomic promotion of Poland, as part of which he cooperated with the Michelin guide or the organizers of the Bocuse D’Or competition. Awarded with a badge of honor “For services to tourism”.

A graduate of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, he holds research fellowships at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and the University of Warsaw.
