Secretary of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism

Secretary of State, the Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister for the Promotion of the Polish Brand,
On May 30, 2023, he was awarded an honorary doctorate at the International Business School in Sofia.
On October 27, 2021, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appointed Andrzej Gut-Mostowy as the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
From August 17, 2021, he held the position of Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development and Technology.
From November 19, 2020, he served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development, Labor, and Technology.
From January 3, 2020, he served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development. He also served as the Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister for the Promotion of the Polish Brand.
He was a co-creator of the Polish Tourism Voucher program and many solutions included in the anti-crisis shield and tourism shield.
A graduate of the University of Economics in Krakow, with majors in Tourism Economy (master’s degree) and Regional Economy (doctoral studies).
Member of the Polish Parliament (Sejm) in 2005-2007, 2007-2011, 2011-2015, and the current term.
From 1998 to 2005 (2 terms), he was a councilor of the Małopolskie Voivodeship. He held the position of Vice-Chairman of the Commission for Physical Culture and Tourism, among others. From 1995 to 1998, he was a councilor in the City of Zakopane and a Member of the City Council.
Vice President of the Tatra Chamber of Commerce from 2008 to 2014. He was also the president and a member of the board of the Małopolska Tourist Organization. He belonged to the Scientific Research Team “Tourist Traffic Research in Małopolska”. He initiated the establishment of the Małopolska Tourist Organization by the Małopolskie Voivodeship Council.
From 2005 to 2009, he was a co-founder and the first leader of the Knights of Columbus in Poland, the world’s largest charitable Catholic organization.
Since 2004, he has been organizing festivals called “Entrepreneurs of Podhale, Spisz, Orava for Children” in Rabka. He was awarded the Knight of the “Order of the Smile” for this activity.
He comes from one of the oldest and most numerous families in Podhale, which has been involved in tourism since the late 19th century.
Married with four children.
