President of the PHH

Gheorghe Marian Cristescu began his adventure in the hotel industry more than 25 years ago. He gained professional experience in Polish and international hotel chains: Radisson, Accor Hotels, or Best Western.
From April 2016 to January 2019, he served as CEO of Chopin Airport Development. As of January 2019. G. M. Cristescu assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Polski Holding Hotelowy (PHH), which aims to consolidate the management of hotel properties, owned by the state. The PHH Group now includes more than 50 hotels and facilities with nearly 6,000 rooms, making it the second largest hotel group in the country and the first with exclusively Polish capital. In addition, the Group cooperates – as a franchisee – with the world’s leading hotel chains, such as Marriott International, Hilton International, Best Western Hotels&Resorts, InterContinental Hotels Group, Louvre Hotels Group and Accor.
In 2020, Gheorghe Marian Cristescu was honored with the MT Targi Polska Grand Prix Award as a token of gratitude for his long-standing cooperation and support for the tourism industry, and awarded the badge of honor for outstanding contributions to the Polish Chamber of Tourism. In 2019, President Cristescu was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic, Andrzej Duda, and received the badge of honor “For Meritorious Service to Tourism” by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. President Cristescu has been awarded the “Man of the Year” special award by the Hotelier monthly three times in 2012, 2018 and 2020, while in 2021 he was honored with the Hotelier of the Decade award. In 2022, President Cristescu, received a commemorative medal for the 100th anniversary of the Polish Olympic Committee for PHH’s involvement in cooperation for the Polish Olympic Committee.
In addition, PHH’s president annually tops the list of the “100 most influential people in Polish tourism” of Your Tourism magazine, earning second place in 2021 and 2022.
